Curious Jumping Spider
$2.00$1.50
On warm afternoons, small hunters move across walls and leaves with a kind of careful confidence. They stop, tilt slightly, and seem to study the world before making the next move. This model captures that feeling in a close, friendly interpretation of a jumping spider, with the large forward-facing eyes and compact body shape that make this species so recognizable.
The figure depicts a stylized but naturalistic jumping spider with a rounded abdomen, thick banded legs, dense surface hair, and a prominent front face dominated by large glossy eyes. The forward stance gives it a curious, alert expression rather than an aggressive one. Fine surface texture across the body and legs helps the model read well in both textured renders and physical prints, while the leg placement keeps the spider stable for display.
This piece works well as a nature collectible, desk ornament, educational model, diorama creature, or small display print for people who enjoy arachnids. The sculpt offers strong visual character from the front and top views, and the compact silhouette makes it practical for different print sizes.
This model is based on an original concept and design. The initial 3D form was generated with the assistance of AI tools, after which it was extensively refined and manually detailed in Blender and other 3D editing software. This workflow ensures the figure maintains its unique character and meets the standards of precision, structure, and print-readiness required for high-quality 3D printing.
Please note that the model is primarily designed for textured versions (OBJ + MTL in ZIP archive), allowing for a rich and visually detailed result when used with color-supported 3D printing or digital rendering. The non-textured version (2MF) may lack some surface details visible in the textured formats.
Recommended print technology
Resin printers are best for preserving eye shapes, fine hair texture, and leg segmentation.
FDM printers can work well at larger scales with careful support placement.
Suggested resin settings
Layer height: 0.03–0.05 mm
Orientation: slight backward tilt to protect the front eyes and reduce support marks on the face
Supports: light to medium supports under the body, lower leg sections, and underside of the mouth area
Hollowing: usually not necessary at smaller sizes; optional for large display prints
Suggested FDM settings
Layer height: 0.12–0.16 mm with a 0.4 mm nozzle
Walls: 2–3 perimeters, infill 12–18%
Supports: recommended under the body and selected leg overhangs
Material: PLA for ease of printing, PETG for slightly stronger legs
Recommended size and print estimates
Recommended width: 70–110 mm for a clear display piece
Supports: recommended
Minimum print time: 240 minutes
Material estimate at about 90 mm width: Resin 35–70 g or Filament 30–65 g, depending on hollowing and infill
Scaling Note: This model is designed in millimeters (mm). If it appears too small when imported into your slicer, ensure your software is set to mm units. If needed, scale the model up 100x if the slicer defaults to meters instead.
